Our Commitment

Nex-Toolbox is committed to making our website and tools accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We have not yet had a formal audit, and we keep working to improve the user experience for all visitors.

Accessibility Features

What we have in place today:

• Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and HTML5 semantic elements throughout the site
• Keyboard Navigation: The menu, search (↑/↓ and Enter), drop-down lists, forms, links and buttons can be used with a keyboard. Some tools still have parts that need a mouse or touch (see Known Limitations)
• Color Contrast: The main text and buttons are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast
• Responsive Design: The site works across screen sizes — from mobile phones to large desktop monitors
• Alt Text: Content images have descriptive alt text
• Focus Indicators: Visible focus styles are provided for keyboard navigation
• No Auto-Play Sound: We do not auto-play audio or video. The homepage picture slider changes by itself every few seconds; it pauses while the pointer is over it and stays still if your device is set to reduce motion
• Reduced Motion: Decorative animations are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion
• Readable Fonts: We use legible typefaces with adequate sizing and line height

Browser-Based Tools

Since all Nex-Toolbox tools run entirely in your browser, you can use your browser's built-in accessibility features alongside our tools:

• Browser zoom (typically Ctrl/Cmd + or -)
• High contrast mode
• Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
• Browser extensions for dyslexia-friendly fonts or color adjustments

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some tools have known gaps: visual tools such as the Image to ASCII converter, Emoji Mosaic and Background Generators are hard to use with a screen reader, some symbol grids cannot yet be reached with the Tab key, and the typing trainers are built for a physical keyboard. We are working through these.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We check pages with a keyboard and on phones when we change them, and fix problems people report. Our goal is to ensure every developer and creator can benefit from Nex-Toolbox, regardless of ability.
